Today we’re going to show you how to change either the upper or lower spray arm seal in your dishwasher. Really easy jobs; the upper one, all we’re going to need is a Phillips screw driver and a small flat blade screw driver. For the bottom one no tools required; let me show you how it’s done. To replace the lower spray arm seal first we’ll need to remove the lower dish rack, set that aside.

Remove the nut that secures the lower spray arm to the pump, remove the spray arm and cover, and your seal is located beneath that. Discard that piece, set our new one down over top, reinstall the spray arm, and the retaining nut. Slide the lower rack back in to place.

Remove the upper dish rack so that we can get it on a flat surface where we can work on it, to do that we need to remove two rack stops; take a flat blade screw driver, just depress the tab and lift up on them. Do the same for both sides. Now we can safely slide the upper rack forward, off the tracks, push the two tracks back inside, and we can set the rack on top of the dishwasher to do our repair.

Now that we have the upper rack inverted on a stable surface where we can work on it, we next need to remove a single Phillips screw that holds the supply tube to the mount. Lift the supply tube off, set it aside, and our seal is located right there on the bottom of the upper spray arm. Insert the new one into place, line up the supply tube, make sure it sits flush on that mount, reinsert the one screw, and don’t over tighten it. Now we’re ready to reassemble.

Now all that’s left to do is to reinstall the rack. Pull our tracks forward; locate the rear wheels into the tracks, and the front ones, ready to reinstall the rack stops. Make sure the bendable tab is on the top, stick the bottom one in first, press it into place until it locks. And our repair is complete.
